Glorious Riches of Grace

Image
Glorious riches of grace Lavished on us in the Son Who redeemed us by His blood To unite us all as one For Jesus is the Head And the church is His body We are sinners welcomed by the Lord Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Who has blessed us evermore In the Lamb who was slain upon the cross Christ Jesus died in our place Took our sin and gave us grace Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!  Praise the Lord! Wondrous mercy flows down From Jesus our precious King For the Father's love was displayed In Christ's suffering For Jesus is the Savior And the church is His bride We are sinners welcomed by the Lord

The Everlasting Word

Image
The glorious truth shines forth from Scripture that the Word of God stands forever. Life on earth is a vapor that will soon pass away, but the promises of God found in the Bible will never fade. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever” (Isaiah 40:8). Along with God’s Word standing firm forever is the beautiful promise that His love also endures forever. “…the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him…” (Psalm 103:17).  These Bible verses inspired me to write this poem, and I hope and pray that God uses it to point all who read it to the glorious truth that Jesus Christ is the Everlasting Word of God and that His love for His people endures forever. The Everlasting Word Lift your eyes now, O my soul See the One who fights for you When your sin is all you see Lift your eyes to Calvary For there the Everlasting Word--- The Son of God and Son of Man St

Another year has passed behind My dusty feet into the sunset sky, And I pause from walking further on To gaze back on days forever gone. •  •  • And the question echos in my mind: What have I to show for all the steps I've climbed? For all the days I've lived this past year? For all the sorrows bathed in bitter tears? •  •  • What have I to hold on to from where I've come? From what I've learned; from all I've done? For the joy and sadness mingling in my heart? What have I to show as a new year starts? •  •  • And I realize afresh with new born eyes That all I have to show is Christ. In all the days that I passed through A million ways God whispered "I love you" •  •  • He used the sorrows, the joys, the sin To point my eyes back to Him He stood strong when I was weak When I was lost, He came to seek My trembling, broken, sinful soul He raised me up and makes me whole  •  •  • When I was swept in
