Precious Jesus, my soul's REFUGE,
Your brilliant glory forever shines:
Love unfailing---displayed at calv'ry
Blood untainted---grace divine.

 Precious Jesus, my soul's RANSOME,
Your mighty name forever saves:
The lowest sinner who falls before Thee;
The vilest wretch snatched from the grave.

 Precious Jesus, my soul's SHEPHERD,
Your matchless grace forever keeps:
My heart in the lowest, darkest valley,
To the highest, glorious mountain peak.

Only Jesus

Precious Lord Jesus, in You there is fullness of joy! At Your right hand there are pleasure forevermore!  Yet for so long, I have dwelt in darkness thinking that this joy and pleasure was somehow out of my reach. Wrongly did I think that if only I could read my Bible enough, pray enough, memorize enough Bible verses, search my motives and empty every action of pride enough, and do all in my power to meet all the standards in Your Word---then perhaps I would be able to walk with You like Enoch, be Your friend like Abraham, see Your glory like Moses, be a person after your own heart like David, be greatly loved by You like Daniel, and somehow when I reach Heaven's shores I would be special to You and not just one of the faces in Heaven's vast throng of Saints. The Everlasting Word

                   The glorious truth shines forth from Scripture that the Word of God stands forever. Life on earth is a vapor that will soon pass away, but the promises of God found in the Bible will never fade. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever” (Isaiah 40:8). Along with God’s Word standing firm forever is the beautiful promise that His love also endures forever. “…the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him…” (Psalm 103:17).  These Bible verses inspired me to write this poem, and I hope and pray that God uses it to point all who read it to the glorious truth that Jesus Christ is the Everlasting Word of God and that His love for His people endures forever. The Unchangeable Rock

  Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint.  Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. Psalm 61:1‭-‬3   Life is like the sea---shifting and changing from moment to moment. The waves rise up and crash to unknown depths. Stillness hushes the raging, murky waters till they sparkle like polished glass stretching out to the heavens. Beauty and terror meet in the swirling, ever-changing tides of life. I find myself swept up in this sea of life, and here I am just as changeable as the waters that toss me about mercilessly. To face this alone is to sink into the bottomless depths of despair, yet to face it as I clutch and grab for the equally shifting and changeable things around me is to hold on to impending doom.
