Jesus Loves the Little Children {In Jars of Clay #3}

In August 2024 my eldest daughter turned 10 years old, and my youngest daughter turned 2. While my family joyfully celebrated these precious lives as gifts from God, 85,850* human beings in the United States were murdered over the course of the month by the practice of abortion. This would be the same as if the NFL MetLife Stadium in New Jersey was filled to capacity and then everybody watching the game was killed. Another way to look at it is to realize that more human beings were killed in August 2024 by abortion then Patriot Soldiers were killed during the entire Revolutionary War. It would be like the city of Warner Robins, GA being wiped off the map. And this is only the statistics from one month out of the year. Human beings are being murdered today by abortion.

They have no choice in the matter.

Jesus loves the little children

All the children of Liberty’s shore

Whose blood shall be their only blanket;

The grave the only kiss for them in store.

All these precious little children

Whose eyes never had the chance to see

The amber waves of grain a gleaming

And the purple mountains’ majesty.

All these beloved little children

Ripped from the womb, from life, and love

They found no welcome home to meet them,

But they shall have a welcome up above.

And all these precious little children

Whose lives are spilled out like the rain;

Shall pour their tears out unto Jesus

They shall find his comfort in their pain.

 For we the City, found on a hill shining

Rose too high in pride to see

That the choice to kill these little children

Shall echo on eternally.

And what would all these little voices

Proclaim now if they could speak

They would call us to surrender

To repent and God’s mercy seek

For if we leave our lofty places

And walk the road to Calvary,

We shall find a Savior waiting

To bear our guilt and set us free.

I know the song that all these children

Are lifting up before the throne

Resounds across the wondrous Heavens

For the glory of God alone.

And all these precious little children

Whom our country has thrown away,

Taste the beauty of God’s glory

They’re sparkling Jewels that God displays.

So bow your heart and rend your eyes now

Oh, Ancient Lady Liberty,

For the throngs of people hid in your shelter

Have filled your cup up for all to see.

Though your beauty towers above higher,

The God of all shall come again

If you choose to bear your sin now

You will bear it without end.

So repent all who sought a refuge

In the City upon a Hill,

Turn to Jesus and surrender

To his love and perfect will.

Jesus loves the little children

To all the children he cries, “COME TO ME!”

Wondrous pardon there is in Jesus

True redemption, rich and free.

Jesus loves the little children

All the children slain without a plea.
